Effect of nanoadditives on the novel leather fiber/recycled poly(ethylene-vinyl-acetate) polymer composites for multifunctional applications: Fabrication, characterizations, and multiobjective optimization using central composite design

Abstract The current study intended to investigate the viability and efficacy of performance measurement by incorporating one most hazardous leather wastes, that is, buffing dust nanofillers as reinforcing constituents within recycled poly(ethylene-vinyl acetate) a matrix with maximum fiber-loading 1:1, using mill followed hot-press molding. samples were tested evaluate physicomechanical characteristics including tensile, compressive strength, density, abrasion-resistance, adhesion-strength, hardness, tear-resistance, compression resilience, damping, water-absorption per standard ASTM/SATRA/ISO testing methods. thermoanalytical methods, namely thermalgravimetric analysis differential scanning calorimetry, have been employed simulate performance, effectiveness blended-mix through glass-transition crystallization temperature. Furthermore, morphological properties fabricated composites explored electron microscopy energy-dispersive spectroscopy analysis. In addition, attenuated total reflection-Fourier-transform infrared was performed examine physicochemical molecular structure, chemical bonding, functional groups neat EVA (ethylene-vinyl copolymer dust/recycled polymer composites. Throughout this study, ameliorated optimizing operating parameters molding process central composite design approach in response surface methodology. obtained results novel certainly splendid for value-added application footwear, structural, floor-covering, transportation domains.
